No. 13 Auburn takes on the Bradley Braves down in Cancun, Mexico, as part of the NCAA's Cancun Challenge. Why do we need these random challenges and tournaments at the beginning of the year is beyond me, but I'm sure these college kids enjoy a free trip to a tropical paradise. Auburn has started the season out 4-0, which is absolutely no surprise given the level of competition that they have faced. Playing Texas Southern, Winthrop, South Florida and George Mason doesn't exactly put your skills to the test if you are a top team. They are 2-2 ATS in those games, so not overly impressive.

Bradley is no slouch, to be sure, but they just aren't on the same level as the Tigers are. The Braves have a lethal offense that can get hot if you let them, as they are shooting 48.5% over the first four games, while also scoring 79.3 points per game. Auburn cannot let them do that, and they probably won't, as the Tigers are a much better team than anyone Bradley has faced thus far. Still, they aren't about to just roll over and die. They are 2-1 ATS, so they have at least covered to start the year.

MY PICK: Auburn is going to have a massive advantage on the boards, which is really going to hurt Bradley in a plethora of ways. It limits their possessions, and without that volume shooting, they are going to have to make every possession mean the world. Auburn shouldn't have too much of a problem covering because of this.

Penn is a basketball team that I have bet on already a few times this season, and I've gone 2-1 so far. I really like this Quaker team when they take on competition that is similar to them, because they are one of the better 1-4 teams that you can imagine. The reason why is that they have a player that could be a starter on a Power 5 team. Jordan Dingle is a fantastic basketball player, and almost every time he hits the floor, he's the best player on the court. He's averaging 19.8 points per game and shooting 41.3% on the year so far. He shoots 91.3% from the charity stripe while also dishing out 2.8 assists per game. He's a star, and one that you probably haven't heard of if all you watch is top-25 games. They are 2-3 ATS, which isn't great, but you have to pick your spots.

Lafayette is right there with them in terms of competition. They aren't any good either as a team, but they also don't have a guy like Dingle who can do it all and is an elite scorer. They also aren't big inside, and Penn should have the advantage here underneath the rim. The only thing that they do better than Penn is play defense, as the Quakers are letting up 80.2 points per game. I'm not sure Lafayette is the team that is going to take advantage of that though, because no one on the team scares you like Dingle. They are 4-1 ATS so far, which is fantastic, so they have been over-performing.

MY PICK: Penn has easily the best player in this game, and Dingle should be able to do anything he wants here. I'll take the Quakers to cover the spread.
