Two top 25 teams coming off weekend losses will face off at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ when the 21st ranked Butler Bulldogs take the 16th ranked Seton Hall Pirates Wednesday evening in Big East play.

The Bulldogs (19-7, 7-6 in conference) are coming off a tough home loss to Georgetown, 73-66 over at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs trend, particularly towards betters has not been good as of late. They’ve lost their last three games against the spread and haven’t won a game ATS since January 28th, in which they only covered by one point in their first game of the season against Georgetown. On the year, Butler is 13-12 ATS with an 11-14 Over/Under Record, covering the over just 44% of the time. On the road, they’ve fared a tad better against the spread going 5-5 with a straight up record of 6-4. As a road underdog, they’re 4-2 ATS this season, but an O/U record of just 1-5. Butler will need a big game from their leading scorer Kamar Baldwin, who dropped 19 points on Seton Hall back on January 15th in their earlier matchup of the season. The Bulldogs ended up losing that game 78-70 at home to Seton Hall.

Meanwhile, the Pirates (18-7, 10-3 in conference), will need to rebound from their toughest conference play of the season, losing two straight to Creighton Wednesday night at home, and most recently on the road at Providence by three. In both games, Seton Hall failed to cover the spread and have lost four of their last six games ATS. On the year, Seton Hall has become one of the more reliable ATS teams to bet on, going 15-9 ATS in 2019-2020 and covering nearly 63% of the time. As a home favorite, they’ve gone 9-4 ATS with a 5-9 O/U record. Pirates guard Myles Powell has continued to play well despite the two-game losing streak, with 27 points, four assists and two steals in his last game.
