The Pistons Are A Potential Deep Sleeper In The Eastern Conference

Young deep roster makes them worth considering for a playoff birth

The Eastern Conference is as deep as it's been in years in the NBA, and after coming off of a season where ten teams had at least 43 wins, we can expect a similar result this coming season.

That being said, there's no guarantees the same teams will see similar success, and there's always room for at least one surprise like we had last season.

If we're looking for a deep sleeper to make the playoffs, why not consider the Detroit Pistons?

Last season, the Timberwolves went from 23 wins to 46, while the Cavs doubled their win total from 22 to 44, so it's clearly possible. Detroit, coming off of a 23-win year the last time out, at least has the depth and young talent to be thrown into the mix if we're looking for a deep sleeper here.

The Pistons are +880 on FanDuel to make the playoffs, and with a rotation of players like Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Saddiq Bey, Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks, and Isaiah Stewart, there's enough there to give this squad a chance to sneak in.

They've had another aggressive offseason, and obviously having Ivey fall to them in the draft was a major plus too. Ivey and Cunningham together in that backcourt bring one of the youngest tandems together, with a chance for a massively bright future.

Adding Bogdanovic will bring an outside threat this team desperately needed, and with a rotation that could go a solid ten guys deep, the Pistons have a shot to surprise some people this year.
