Giddey Up, Josh

There is a good chance Giddey will be in contention to win the NBA ROY award at the end of the season for several reasons, one of them being playing time. Mark Daigneault is no stranger to giving rookies a huge veteran workload. Even with all the obstacles the 2020 rookie class faced due to the COVID-19 virus and the restrictions put into place because of it, 19-year-old rookie Theo Maledon led the Thunder in minutes.

You should expect the same with Giddey. The sheer minutes logged will give the Australian a big advantage on the competition. The 18-year-old will see NBA minutes from game one to 82, be allowed to fail and succeed on a team that isn't going anywhere, and will be placed in an offensive system that has been built pretty much specifically for him.

Giddey is a future All-Star. He's a tall playmaker that understands angles on the court, and is an extremely good rebounder who grabs the ball and goes.

The Value Is There

At +3000, there is value here simply for the incredible amount of minutes he is going to play. Giddey can do just about anything that Daigneault demands. From shot attempts that result in points, big rebounding numbers at the guard spot due to his length and size, and his elite playmaking ability, the Australian sensation will stuff the stat sheet each and every night.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him average almost double-digits in each of those categories as a rookie, which is unheard of. Maybe I'm higher on him than a lot of others, but he has the talent and playing time to succeed in a big way in Oklahoma City.

Giddey up.
