Today’s NBA slate features only six games, but there are still plenty of studs to choose from when it comes to the player prop pool. There are a couple of fun matchups, but I’ll go with Blazers-Suns as tonight’s marquee game. Phoenix has won two in a row and is currently favored by 6 points. The total is set to 227, so we can expect some fireworks.

As for betting tips, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.

Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Luka Doncic OVER 29.5 points, OVER 2.5 made threes

Doncic is averaging 29.1 points per game (PPG) and that number has gone up to 31.9 per game over his last ten outings. Luka is also scoring slightly higher than his average at home (30.2 PPG).

Doncic squares off against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, and I like the matchup. Memphis is 24th in three pointers allowed, 27th in opponent's field goal and three point percentage. Another bet that is worth a sprinkle using these same metrics is Doncic over 2.5 made threes. If you shop around, you can find this bet in the +125 range. He's averaging 7.2 three pointers attempted a game this season, and is coming off of back-to-back games where he made five 3's.

The Mavericks come into tonight off of a loss, so they will need all of Luka's magic if they want to turn it around.

Bradley Beal UNDER 30.5 points

Beal’s leading the league in scoring averaging 32.9 PPG, but this is a good game to go the other way. Over his last ten games he is scoring 29.2 PPG and he will face a motivated Los Angeles Lakers team coming off of two straight losses.

The Lakers are strong defensively in many categories, as they are first in defensive rating, second in points allowed, first in three pointers allowed and fifth in opponent's field goal percentage.

LeBron James and co. will be motivated tonight, which should help slow down Beal.

Jae'Sean Tate OVER 11.5 points

Tate comes into this game averaging 9.9 PPG. The Houston Rockets are pretty beat up right now, so Tate’s minutes have gone up, causing that number to jump to 12.8 PPG over his last ten games.

He can create his own shot and tonight he gets a favorable matchup against the Chicago Bulls. Chicago is slowly improving in some defensive metrics, but they are still 27th in points allowed, 25th in field goals allowed and opponent’s field goal percentage, and 26th in blocks.

Tate has gone over this mark in five out of his last six games. With Dante Exum out and Victor Oladipo doubtful for tonight, he will get plenty of opportunities to score.
