NBA Player Props: 3 Best Bets for Sunday, April 18

3 player prop bets to make for today's 8-game slate

Untitled Image

There's an 8-game NBA slate today, so we have some options to choose from for our player prop bets. From a purely entertainment standpoint, I'll go with Nets-Heat as today's marquee game. Brooklyn is favored by 3-points and the total is set to 223.5.

For today’s best NBA bets, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.

Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Julius Randle OVER 26.5 points

Randle has been a monster this season and I like the matchup today, even though this number is slightly inflated.

Randle is averaging 26.1 points per game (PPG) over his last ten outings and scored 32 the last time these two teams played.

He has gone over this number in three straight games and is taking 23 shots a game during that span, so the volume will be there. The Pelicans have one of the worst defenses in the league, so I always like to find a consistent player against them. New Orleans ranks 24th in opponent's field goal percentage, 26th in points allowed, and 27th in defensive rating.

If you are feeling frisky, sprinkle a little on his over 3.5 three pointers made prop. The Pelicans are terrible at defending the three ball and you can get this bet in the +140/ +150 range.

Joe Harris OVER 11.5 points and 2.5 threes made

I like the matchup today for Harris as he faces a Heat team that is ranked 27th in three-pointers allowed. James Harden is out today, so the Nets will need Harris to help space the floor.

Harris is averaging 14.6 PPG over his last ten outings and is averaging 17.5 PPG in two games against the Heat.

Brooklyn will push the tempo and that will help Harris to get some buckets in transition. Miami will lock in on stopping Kyrie and KD, which will leave the court open for Harris to contribute today.

Miami has been getting rained on from deep, so I see that trend continuing today with Harris being one of the biggest beneficiaries.

BetQL Model Play of the Day

BetQL has a 5-star play tonight on the Timberwolves-Clippers game. The model is liking the Clippers at this number. Los Angeles should be a 15-point favorite via the model's projections, which is a 5-point difference from the current line. So, there is some value on them tonight.
