NBA Player Props: 2 Best Bets for Tuesday, May 18

Player prop bets to make for today's play-in games

Untitled Image

Today's NBA Slate features 2 play-in games, so it will be a fun night for fans and bettors. In terms of wagering, there are still plenty of options to choose from for our player prop bets. I'll go with Wizards-Celtics as today's marquee game, because that one should come down to the wire. Boston is favored by 2.5-point and the total is set to 233, so buckle up.

For today’s best NBA bets, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.

Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Domantas Sabonis OVER 44.5 Points, Rebounds, Assists

Sabonis averaged 39 PRA during the regular season, but he gets the perfect opponent tonight to eclipse this mark. Defensively, Charlotte is a little soft on the boards, as they rank 27th in offensive rebounds allowed and 30th in assists allowed. The Pacers will run their offense through him early and often, which helps our cause here. He should also be able to pickup a couple of offensive rebounds for putbacks.

Indiana is playing at a frantic pace since April (even faster than the Wizards) and the Hornets won't have an answer for Sabonis tonight, so he'll have plenty of opportunities to impact the game in all three categories.

He's also finally healthy and averaged 23 points, 14 rebounds and almost 11 assists over his final nine outings. I don't see a reason he can't do the same in tonight's big game.

I'd keep an eye on the odds for him to get a triple-double tonight. I don't see the odds yet, but "Yes" might be worth a sprinkle.

Cody Zeller OVER 7.5 Rebounds

Zeller averaged 6.8 boards per game during the season, but I love the matchup here. The Pacers rank dead last in offensive rebounds allowed, while the Hornets rank 6th in the NBA in offensive rebounding. Zeller leads his team in OREB, averaging 2.5 a game, and has pulled down 8 rebounds a game against the Pacers this season (3 games).

The total is set to 228 points, so we should see plenty of shot attempts and rebounding opportunities. The mark is a little higher than I was hoping, but he should be able to get at least three to four offensive rebounds which will help him get to this number.
