Today's NBA Betting Lines, Odds & Picks

It's a fantastic Friday in the NBA today, and we have a nice fresh slate of games to go through, 11 of them to be exact. It's also a great time to check out our BetQL NBA model because it's been on fire lately, going 339-218 (61%) on all picks in the past 14 days for a total return of $3,687 on $100 bets! Timberwolves at Jazz Prediction

The Minnesota Timberwolves (12-12 SU, 9-15 ATS, 10-14 O/U) hit the road for a five-game West Coast road trip and make their first stop against the Utah Jazz (15-12 SU, 15-12 ATS, 15-12 O/U) tonight.

I don’t typically rely solely on trends, but this is one that caught my attention. For whatever reason, the Jazz like to play fast and efficient on Friday because over their last five Friday night matchups, the totals in those games have been 258 (this one was also against the Timberwolves), 246, 267, 247, and 258. Minnesota has also gone over tonight's total of 234.5 in four of the last five games. Both of these teams also play at a top-10 pace in the league with Minnesota ranking first in pace on the season. Not to mention, this will also be Rudy Gobert’s first time playing back in Utah since being traded to the Wolves in the offseason, so it’s fair to expect a big night from him. I see lots of points being scored tonight in Utah.

My pick: Timberwolves-Jazz Over 234.5

Pistons at Grizzlies Prediction

The Detroit Pistons (8-19 SU, 14-11-2 AS, 14-13 O/U) and the Memphis Grizzlies (16-8 SU, 12-11-1 ATS, 11-12-1 O/U) meet for the second time this week, but this time, in the Home of the Blues.

Memphis topped Detroit on Sunday, 122-112, and I expect a similar outcome tonight. However, instead of subjecting myself to a potential backdoor cover like what happened between the Pistons and Pelicans on Tuesday, I'm going to play the first half and take the Grizzlies -6 1H. Memphis knows how to start games really strong, going 16-8-1 ATS in the first half this season and this is a great spot for them to do it at home. The Pistons, meanwhile, are playing their third game in four nights, all on the road, and their fourth game in six nights. Detroit struggled to rebound against Memphis in the last meeting and was outscored 56-38 in the paint. I don't think much has changed over the last five days that's going to allow those numbers to change too much.

Plus, here's a fun trend for you, courtesy of our BetQL model: Taylor Jenkins is 34-13 ATS in the first half after a blowout win by 15 points or more while coaching Memphis. And the Grizzlies just beat OKC by 21.

My pick: Grizzlies 1H -6

Kings at Cavaliers Prediction

The Cleveland Cavaliers' (11-5 SU, 13-9-2 ATS, 9-15 O/U) three-game homestand began on Tuesday with a win over the Lakers and continues tonight as they welcome the Sacramento Kings (13-9 SU, 14-7-1 ATS, 11-10-1 O/U).

The success of the Kings has been a very nice surprise this season and a fun team to follow. Who doesn't like a good Light The Beam chant? However, I don't think Kings fans are going to be hearing much of that tonight. Sacramento lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday in what was their first game of a six-game road trip. While a loss to a very good Bucks team isn't something to be concerned about, the Kings are a team that I'm selling right now.

Cleveland will be looking to avenge its loss in Sacramento last month. In order to do that, they'll have to do a better job slowing down Domantas Sabonis, who led the Kings in scoring in that game with 21 points. This will be especially important especially if De'Aaron Fox, who is listed as questionable with a foot injury, is indeed out tonight because that means the Kings will run their offense primarily through Sabonis. The good news for Cavs fans is that they have both Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley as two of the best rim protectors in the game. Cleveland is also first in the NBA in defensive efficiency and scoring defense, holding teams to 104.9 ppg. Back the home team to get the job done tonight.

My pick: Cavaliers -3.5
