Quick-Hitters

  • The Phoenix Suns are one of the hottest teams in the Orlando bubble with a 4-0 record. They've defeated the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers, and most recently, the Indiana Pacers.

  • Devin Booker has been playing excellent for Phoenix, proving that he is indeed a superstar in this league.

  • Don’t underestimate the Miami Heat, even with Jimmy Butler and Kendrick Nunn being ruled out, including a questionable tag for Goran Dragic. CLICK FOR LIVE GAME ODDS!

Scorching Suns

Bubble basketball continues Saturday evening as the Phoenix Suns take on the Miami Heat at 7:30 pm ET. So far, we’ve seen some crazy performances from some unlikely characters. The Suns as a team are 4-0 since the restart and have been red hot with some close victories over the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks.

During the four-game stretch, the Suns are averaging 118.25 points per game while the Heat are 2-2 with 107.5 points per game in the bubble. Additionally, the Suns have managed a +6.3 scoring margin, whereas the Heat are at a measly -4.0. Furthermore, Phoenix's defense has been impressive in their past three games, holding opponents to an effective field goal percentage of just 49.0 percent, good for third-best in the league.

Injuries Galore

While the injury status of Goran Dragic and his ankle are still up in the air, Jimmy Butler (foot) and Kendrick Nunn (personal) are going to miss this contest. However, there is one clear star on the court and his name is Devin Booker. Yes, Butler and Dragic are crucial to the Heat’s success, but Booker’s play since the restart has elevated the Suns as a unit.

The underrated 23-year-old is averaging 26.2 points per game on the year and 28.0 points in the bubble. Even more impressively, Booker ranks 11th in the NBA in true shooting percentage with a mark of 61.6 percent. Booker also ranks fourth in the league in terms of efficiency rating with a 24.1 mark. Look for Booker to be the game changer in Saturday’s matchup, especially against a depleted Heat lineup.

Don't Count Out Miami

We have to remember that the Heat are still a very good basketball team. Even without Butler and Nunn, they still have a frontrunner for Most Improved Player, Bam Adebayo, and Duncan Robinson, who is second in the NBA in true shooting with a 68.2 percent line. It's also important to note that the Heat are an impressive 19-6 (76.0 percent) against the spread when coming off a loss. Although the Heat are the all around better team, the Suns are still playing for the slight chance of making the playoffs. Phoenix truly has something to play for with the eight-seed in the Western Conference up for grabs. Will the Suns continue their hot streak on Saturday?
