Celtics -140
The Celtics did not end last season the way they wanted to when they lost to the Warriors in the NBA Finals, but things are looking up after the moves they've made this offseason. They acquired Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari, and Brad Stevens is showing that this team means business in 2022-23. After adding those two players to an already stacked roster it's not surprising they are favored to win the division.
76ers +275
James Harden is taking a pay cut this offseason to help this team win a championship, so Philly will be laser-focused on winning. If Harden believes in the team's chances, it makes sense that the 76ers' odds are where they are on this list. And they'll be looking to go further than they did this past season when they exited the playoffs after losing to the Heat in the conference semifinals.
Nets +500
The Nets are kind of in flux currently, so it's not surprising their odds are a bit longer than those of the Celtics and 76ers after their season ended earlier than they hoped against the Celtics. It's still uncertain where Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will be next season and rumors continue to swirl about what might happen to them this offseason. But keep an eye on these odds as the Kyrie and Durant situation becomes more settled.
Raptors +650
After their first-round loss in the playoffs to the 76ers, the Raptors will be hoping to make more of the comeback next season. There are trade rumors swirling involving the Nets and Ben Simmons, but check back on these odds once we see if Toronto makes any moves.
Knicks +2000
The Knicks have made some pretty decent moves this offseason, as they signed Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein in free agency while re-signing Mitchell Robinson and Jericho Sims. But they are right in the middle of the Donovan Mitchell trade rumors with the Jazz, so once that gets sorted out, these odds might not be as long and are definitely something to keep an eye on as these moves unfold.
I have all the confidence in the world in the Celtics to win the division this season. Not only because of how far they got last season but also because they got even better this offseason. With those moves they've already made, plus even more they could potentially make, I feel like there's no stopping this team this season.
