NBA Draft: Best Bet For Kings With No. 4 Pick

The most likely outcome and what the books have to offer right now

No. 4 Overall, Sacramento Kings: Jaden Ivey (-420 on FanDuel)

2021-2022 Stats: 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists (31.4 minutes over 36 games)

Player comparisons are always a big thing around this time of year, with all kinds of names being thrown around to give us a perspective on unproven NBA talent. Ja Morant is the common one for Ivey, whose athleticism and ability to create his own shot off the dribble certainly make this make sense.

Now, other comps might make more sense, but Ivey is looked at as the most likely choice for the Kings. Also, they're the Kings, and they usually make decisions no one understands, like trading away Tyrese Haliburton. That does clear a path for an Ivey and D'Aaron Fox pairing in the backcourt that would have a ton of explosiveness, where taking the best talent available over fit seems to be their plan.

Whether or not Ivey is a true fit at point guard wouldn't really matter here having Fox playing alongside him, and the combo guard role can really be played by either, in an increasingly positionless NBA.

Ivey will still have to work on that outside shot to be successful in that type of role, though, with his 1-of-8 shooting from 3 in the Big Ten Championship game standing out, with the old "questioning his motor" narrative hanging over his head as well.

There's no denying his talent, though, and it also could be enticing enough for teams to move up to No. 4, including the Knicks who reportedly love his potential.

Other notable possibilities: Keegan Murray (+260) and Shaedon Sharpe (+550)
