Which MLB Team is Favored to Win the 2022 AL Pennant? 

The 2021 MLB season is freshly done so it’s as good a time as any to look at the outlook for 2022. And the odds for which team will win the 2022 AL pennant are here, they’re real and they’re spectacular. 

Let’s take a look into the crystal ball at which teams have the best chance to win it and which teams, well, not so much. 

Odds To Win 2022 AL Pennant

The Astros Are Favored to Win the 2022 AL Pennant 

The Houston Astros, who just won this year’s AL pennant, but lost the World Series to the Atlanta Braves, land at the top of the odds list here with +350 odds to win the pennant in 2022. 

They’re followed by the New York Yankees, who barely made the playoffs this season and lost in the wild card game to the Boston Red Sox, with +500 odds. However, if the Yankees start the 2022 season like they did last year, I’m thinking these odds will get longer. For better or worse, the team is keeping Aaron Boone as their manager and it remains to be seen if he can steer this team more in the right direction. 

The Chicago White Sox are next on the list with +575 odds and they did win the AL Central in the 2021 season with their 93-69 record, so I wouldn’t sleep on them. 

Also pretty high on this odds list are the Tampa Bay Rays at +600 and the Red Sox at +750. 

Obviously, I like the Red Sox to win the AL pennant at +750 and I think those odds will get shorter, but I also think the Rays could make some noise this season. Tampa Bay finished the 2021 season with 100 wins and in first place in the AL East so it wouldn’t be nuts to think they’ll do it again in 2022. 

The Orioles Have The Longest Odds To Win the Pennant 

At bottom of this list, we’ve got the Texas Rangers with +7500 odds and the Baltimore Orioles at +10000. 

I expect the Orioles odds will get longer once the season starts. They finished 52-110 this season, but they do have Trey Mancini who had a great year personally after getting engaged and coming in second place in the Home Run Derby, so they have that going for them. 

But I’m telling you, I’ve got a feeling about the Detroit Tigers this season and their +4000 odds here, so I wouldn’t count them out to take the 2022 AL pennant. The Tigers would be the sleeper I would take here to make a run for this win. They just acquired Gold Glove catcher Tucker Barnhart, so they’re showing the team is willing to invest in themselves.
