Our MLB Player Prop of the Day on Nick Castellanos

The Cincinnati Reds kick off their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies tonight and Nick Castellanos will look to keep his three-game hitting streak going for the Reds. He’s had at least one hit in all but one of his last 25 games and I am taking him to go Over 1.5 hits against Colorado pitcher Kyle Freeland tonight (odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook).

Castellanos has hit this Over in five of his last eight games, with two hits in each of those five. He's hit it 27 times this season in 55 games. He has 10 hits in his last 30 at-bats and 39 total hits this season. In his 44 at-bats against left-handed pitchers, like Freeland, this year, Castellanos has 18 hits, which means he’s getting a hit 40.91 percent of the time against left-handers. Against righties, meanwhile, he’s getting a hit only 34.46 percent of time with 61 hits in 177 at-bats against them.

Kyle Freeland is 0-1 this season with a 6.23 ERA. He’s given up 19 hits in his three starts. In his last start alone against the Oakland A’s, he gave up 10 hits in five innings. Not so great.

See more on this pick and why Freeland’s hits allowed to right-handed batters like Castellanos convinced me to take the Over on Castellanos hits tonight. Also, visit our MLB page for more information on this game and all of our Best Bets.
