Use QL Gaming Group’s Tools To Dominate The MLB Season

Here's how you could have used BetQL, AccuScore and RotoQL in the Phillies-Braves game on Saturday August 8, 2020

The QL Gaming Group consists of three separate entities: BetQL (sports betting analytics), AccuScore (sports simulation analytics) and RotoQL (daily fantasy sports analytics). Let’s take a look at how our subscribers cashed in with our projections for the Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves MLB game on Saturday August 8th, 2020. The Phillies ended up winning the game 5-0 and as you’ll see below, our projections were spot-on.

BetQL

The Phillies entered this game with a 3-4 record and as -125 consensus favorites against the Braves, who got off to a hot 9-5 start. That was in large part due to the fact that veteran hurler Jake Arrieta was squaring off against unproven Atlanta rookie Kyle Wright. Our model listed the -125 moneyline as a four-star bet since our algorithm labeled the Phillies as -151 favorites.

A slight lean of public bets (52%) sided with the Phillies and 62% of total money wagered backed Philly as well, indicating that sharp bettors were intrigued with the home team.

All-in-all, Phillies moneyline bettors had a nice afternoon and those who simply looked at BetQL's four-star value rating and trusted the model ended up cashing very easily!

AccuScore

Via the 10,000 play-by-play game simulations that AccuScore’s model ran for this game, the Phillies won the game 61.1% of the time. The SuperComputer pointed out that if Arrieta had a Quality Start, the Phillies won 83% of the time in simulations. It projected him to have a line of 6.0 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 2 BB and 8 K. His actual line was 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 1 BB and 6 K.

Further, Wright had a Quality Start just 18% of the time. AccuScore projected him to struggle with his command, as this was his projected line: 4.2 IP, 4 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, 7 K. His actual line was 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 3 K.

RotoQL

The optimizer on RotoQL loved the Phillies on FanDuel’s early slate, as indicated by the fact that six of them were projected for double-digit fantasy points, including J.T. Realmuto, Didi Gregorius and Jay Bruce. Realmuto had the fifth-highest projection of any hitter in our model, had a three-fire rating, and ended up with 21.7 FanDuel points. Gregorius was projected for 11.2 and ended up with 18.7 while Bruce was one of the stars of the slate. At just $2,500 ($500 above minimum price), we projected him to have a productive game with 10.3 FanDuel points, but he hit a huge three-run homer and posted a whopping 31.7 FanDuel points in the process.

As you might imagine, Arrieta out-performed his projection in our model with an absolute gem in six shutout innings, but as shown above, both BetQL and AccuScore were high on the Phillies in large part due to the fact that he was on the hill.
