The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros will play Game 2 of the ALCS on Saturday at 4:20 p.m. EST at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Nathan Eovaldi will be on the mound for the Red Sox, while Luis Garcia is getting the start for the Astros.
And I’m taking Eovaldi to go over 3.5 strikeouts at -175 at DraftKings against the Astros in this one.
Eovaldi faced the Astros once this season and hit this over with five strikeouts. In his 32 starts in the regular season, he hit this over 29 times.
In his postseason starts so far, Eovaldi had eight strikeouts against the New York Yankees in the wild card game and another eight Ks against the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS.
In his postseason career, he is 3-1 in eight games, four of them starts, and has 32 strikeouts.
Eovaldi is also from Houston and will likely want to put on a good show for any family and friends in attendance. So this could be extra motivation for him to put up a high strikeout number.
This Houston team had among the fewest strikeouts in the league this regular season and have the fourth-highest number of strikeouts in this postseason with 47 in five games.
The Astros are still keeping their strikeout numbers low, but, considering how Eovaldi pitched against them this season, that doesn’t mean he can’t get over 3.5 Ks at -175 against this lineup on Saturday.
