MLB Player Prop Targets For Monday June 27, 2022

The following hitter and pitcher props have value

“BEAT THE STREAK” PICK OF THE DAY

Trea Turner (Dodgers SS)

As I’ll get into below, the Dodgers are in a great spot in the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field and Turner should be at the top of their lineup. Since all you need to do in “Beat The Streak” is to pick a player to record a hit, I always like to target guys in the top third of a road lineup since they’ll be guaranteed to get nine innings of at-bats. The Dodgers have the biggest team total on the slate and are in the best run-scoring atmosphere, so give me Turner to get the job done and notch one in the hit column.

PIRATES AT NATIONALS

Erick Fedde Over 4.5 Strikeouts. The Pirates have struck out an MLB-high 10.09 times per game on the road this season and this therefore the best-possible matchup to exploit, as scary as it is to back Fedde in any way.

ATHLETICS AT YANKEES

Jordan Montgomery Over 17.5 Outs Recorded. The southpaw has recorded five Quality Starts in his last six outings and has recorded at least 18 outs in all six of them. This Athletics offense is terrible and he should be able to get through it multiple times with no issues.

Xander Bogaerts Over 1.5 Total Bases. Boston’s shortstop has slashed .348/.375/.457 in 46 at-bats against Toronto starter Kevin Gausman and has made a solid amount of contact against him, as evidenced by the fact that he’s struck out six times and walked just once against him.

TWINS AT GUARDIANS

Byron Buxton To Hit A HR. Guardians starter Triston McKenzie has allowed a whopping 13 home runs over his last seven starts, including eight in his last four contests. Nine of the 14 homers McKenzie has surrendered this year have been to right-handed hitters. Shop around for the best price on Buxton since he’s in a fantastic spot to go yard.

MARLINS AT CARDINALS

Pablo Lopez Under 5.5 Hits Allowed. Lopez has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, as indicated by his 2.61 ERA and the fact that he’s allowed just 65 hits in 82.2 innings pitched. Sure, this Cardinals lineup can be streaky, but it’s hard not to trust Lopez right now.

RANGERS AT ROYALS

Martin Perez To Record A Win. Perez has arguably been the biggest surprise in the Majors this year, and he’s recorded an amazing 11 Quality Starts in his last 12 outings. Now facing a weak Royals offense without Salvador Perez, he’s in another excellent spot to pick up a win.

DODGERS AT ROCKIES

Cody Bellinger To Hit A HR. Since this game is being played in the thin air of Coors Field, I like everyone in the Dodgers lineup and will likely get some exposure to all of them in some way. Bellinger has slashed .301/.398/.552 in 40 games at Coors in his career.

WHITE SOX AT ANGELS

Lucas Giolito Over 2.5 Earned Runs. Chicago’s presumed ace heading into the season has been atrocious in four of his last five starts. Over that span, he’s allowed 40 hits and 27 earned runs in just 25.2 innings, including nine homers. Something is clearly off right now, so Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and company should be in a great spot to produce at the plate.

ORIOLES AT MARINERS

Tyler Wells To Earn A Win. It appears as though the poor Orioles found a diamond in the rough. The 6’8, 265-pound righty has been sensational over his last five starts. Baltimore has won all five of the starts and Wells has allowed just 17 hits in 27.0 innings pitched.
