FanDuel is running a pretty awesome promotion until July 21: Place a futures bet on any team to win the World Series and get a bonus in free bets for each game they win from July 21-31, plus get a free bet to use during the MLB playoffs; if you bet $50-$149, you will receive a $5 bonus in free bets (up to $50) for each game your selected team wins between July 21-31, plus a $25 free bet to use in the playoffs; if you bet $150 or more, you will receive a $15 bonus in free bets (up to $150) for each game your selected team wins from July 21-31, plus a $75 free bet for the postseason.

I'm taking advantage of this promo with the Dodgers, who have 11 games from July 21-31: four at home against the Giants, three at home against the Nationals and four at Colorado. Those teams have a combined .467 winning percentage at the All-Star break, so the Dodgers should at least rack up free bets for us.

Unfortunately, the +350 odds to win the World Series at FanDuel are the shortest I see at the major books, but the promo makes them a great pick here. If you're just looking for the best odds on the Dodgers, they are +400 at both Caesars and PointsBet.

Dan Karpuc: Cardinals (+4000, BetMGM)

St. Louis’ odds stand out to me, not because they’re in the mix for the NL wild card (50-44 at the All-Star break), but because they have the fourth-best run differential (+65) in the National League and a dynamic lineup filled with talent. NL MVP frontrunner Paul Goldschmidt headlines a lineup that includes Nolan Arenado, Tommy Edman and youngsters like Brendan Donovan, Dylan Carlson, Nolan Gorman and Juan Yepez as well as old-timers Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols, who will provide a veteran presence to guide the club down the stretch. Plus, it’s only a matter of time until Tyler O’Neill starts producing again (after hitting 34 homers last season, he’s slashed .239/.298/.352 with just four home runs and 28 RBIs through 48 games). Meanwhile, on the mound, Adam Wainwright (6-7, 3.00 ERA) and Miles Mikolas (7-7, 2.54 ERA) are operating as legitimate aces while St. Louis’ bullpen ranks 10th in MLB with a 3.51 ERA. If this team adds one more starting pitcher before the trade deadline or gets production from one of Steven Matz, Dakota Hudson or Matthew Liberatore, I like their postseason chances, especially at this +4000 number.

Lucy Burdge: Mets (+800, BetRivers)
There is still something very special happening with the Mets this season and now that they have Max Scherzer back, I think they’re going to have a huge second half of this season. They’re in first place in the NL East with their 58-35 record and Pete Alonso has also been a sight to behold at the plate, as has Francisco Lindor. And Jacob deGrom hasn't even pitched yet. With all of these pieces on the roster, I think this team can make a real push in the next few months and have a great chance at a World Series win.
