NL Rookie of the Year Odds: Who Are the Favorites?

Who is favored to take home the NL ROY?

NL Rookie of the Year Odds

There are some very talented young players in Major League Baseball this season, in both in the American League and National League. Instead of looking at MLB betting lines, it may be worth examining the latest odds to win NL Rookie of the Year.

Spencer Strider – Braves (+145)

Last week: Spencer Strider was sharp to begin the second half as he struck out six and allowed just one run over six innings of work against the Philadelphia Phillies. His weekly dominance has put him well ahead of the field.

Next week: Strider is projected to face the Phillies again in his next start. Seeing the same team back-to-back is always difficult. It will come down to who makes the correct adjustments.

Michael Harris – Braves (+225)

Last week: Michael Harris has picked it up since the All-Star break. He’s hitting .296 with one homer and four RBI over his past seven games.

Next week: The Braves will end July in Arizona before beginning August with a stretch of key divisional games against the Phillies and New York Mets.

Seiya Suzuki – Cubs (+800)

Last week: Seiya Suzuki stayed hot to open the second half. He’s hitting .333 with two homers and three RBI over his past seven games. Preseason bettors have hope as the original favorite has slowly climbed back into the race.

Next week: The Chicago Cubs will need Suzuki to keep it going, as they have a big road trip with stops in San Francisco and St. Louis on tap.

Oneil Cruz – Pirates (+1000)

Last week: Oneil Cruz has picked it up offensively and flashed talent all over the diamond since the break. However, strikeouts continue to get in his way of becoming an offensive star.

This week: The Pittsburgh Pirates are set to end July and begin August with a big homestand. Cruz could face some elite arms as the Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers come to town.

Christopher Morel – Cubs (+1000)

Last week: Christopher Morel makes his first appearance in the top five as his production has been hard to ignore. Over his past seven games, he’s hitting .391 and has driven in four runs.

Next week: He and Suzuki will have to take the load offensively, especially if catcher Willson Contreras gets traded this week.
