MLB Gas Can Alert For Saturday, July 2

Target opposing offenses with these three pitchers on the mound

Alec Mills, RHP - Chicago Cubs

While Mills doesn't have a ton of innings pitched this season, only 17.0, he made his first start in his last outing. It didn't go well for him. Mills was pummeled by three home runs, which chased him from the game in just the third inning. He came into the game with an already sky-high 8.59 ERA, so I don't think anyone is expecting anything good out of him, except the money he is about to put in our pockets betting against him. He's nothing more than a poor-performing reliever, and the only reason he is starting is because of the insane injury situation Chicago has with its starting rotation at the moment.

I'm honestly shocked they are starting him again, as he has been bad now as both a starter and reliever.

Dallas Keuchel, LHP - Arizona Diamondbacks AND Austin Gomber, LHP - Colorado Rockies

Two pitchers in one game, at least this will take up less article space! I am not even exaggerating when I say that this could end up being the highest scoring game in MLB history. These two are truly the worst of the worst, just terrible starters that should not even sniff a spot in a rotation, but here we are. Keuchel has been a disaster this season, and was released by the White Sox after eight terrible starts for the team. He was picked up by the Diamondbacks and in his first start, allowed four runs in four innings of work. With the injury to starter Zach Davies, Arizona has no choice but to start Keuchel again. At Coors Field, he may give up an MLB record.

On the other side we have Gomber, who hasn't fared much better. He lost his start in the rotation weeks ago, but just like the Diamondbacks, Colorado has no choice but to start him after Ryan Feltner was sent down. Gomber has posted a 6.55 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 67.1 innings over 14 appearances in the Majors this year.

I'm very curious as to what the total will be in this game. May be the highest total we have seen in a long time...
