The White Sox Will Be Contenders In 2022

Another Promising Season Awaits The Young White Sox

World Series Champions (+1200)

Despite the entire offseason in baseball being halted by a labor dispute between the owners and the players, it's a good time to take a look at what the future may hold in Major League Baseball. Team futures are the only wagers currently listed with odds at legal sportsbooks in MLB, but they are also good ones to consider for the White Sox. This is a team that is loaded with talent from top to bottom, and the odds show that as well, as Chicago is ranked as one of the top teams in MLB Futures bets across the board.

You could bet the White Sox to win the American League Central, but there is literally zero value in doing that right now with odds of -200 listed at most sportsbooks. They are massive favorites, so don't buy into that. Instead, grab some 12/1 value on Tony La Russa's squad to win the World Series. The entire squad that won the division last year is back, and the best part is that they are finally healthy after having a full offseason to heal up.

Plus, let us not forget, the offseason still isn't over. There were rumblings that the White Sox were planning on trading closer Craig Kimbrel before the lockout began, and they could get some value in return for the future Hall of Famer. They could also still add to their star roster, as they have plenty of money left to spend. Problem is that owner Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap, so they may be content with their young talent.

Luis Robert: AL MVP

There are currently no odds listed for AL or NL MVP, but once they are available, I would consider betting on Robert to take home the hardware in the AL. This is a guy who has all the tools necessary to be the best player in all of baseball, if only he could just stay on the field instead of in the medical room. Robert has had a real problem staying healthy over his very short MLB career and missed most of the season last year with a leg injury that he got sliding into first base. When he got back from that injury, he was immediately an impact player in the box, batting .350/.389/.622.

Those numbers are easily worth recognition as an MVP player, but that was just post-injury. Now that he has had a full offseason to train and get healthy, just imagine how good he can be for this team to start 2022. It's not just offense either, as he is a gold glove caliber outfielder who can cover almost the entire outfield. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. He's a beast out there robbing homers from unsuspecting victims.

Whenever the odds finally come out, this is definitely worth a sprinkle on an up-and-coming star batting for one of the best teams in baseball.
