Toronto Blue Jays (-115, 9) vs. New York Yankees - 7:07 PM EST

The BetQL Model has the Blue Jays -124 on the money line, yielding value on backing Toronto on Tuesday.

The home team will turn to their ace Hyun-Jin Ryu to even the series. The southpaw faced the Yanks earlier this season, going five-and-one-third innings while allowing two earned runs.

Ryu has had success against the Yankees in his growing sample against the divisional foe. NY is hitting .257 against the lefty in 109 at bats.

The typically explosive Yankees offense has been subdued early this season. The team has struggled to score at their typical rate, down to a tie for 15th in runs generated this in 2021.

The team has relied on drawing walks at a top five rate in the league, which may be a problem against Ryu, who is a challenge in every at bat. Ryu has a career walk rate of two walks per nine innings, well below the typical average of around three-and-a-half per nine.

Left handed pitching gave the Yankees fits last season, the team only hit .226 against southpaws in 2020 and they didn’t calm any concerns after only getting four hits off the Blue Jays starter earlier in the year.

The Bronx Bombers have struggled to produce a ton of runs, and the BetQL Model expects them to struggle once again tonight against one of the most accurate pitchers in all of baseball. Take Toronto to even the series.

Pick: Blue Jays -115
