On Sunday, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo suffered a sprained ankle while fielding a ball. As a result, he will wear a walking boot and miss an undetermined amount of time.
Anthony Rizzo: “I want to play as soon as possible, whether it’s now or Game 1 of the World Series. I want to play as soon as possible.”

The Cubs, who are fighting for an NL Wild Card spot, will now be without Rizzo, Javier Baez (thumb), Craig Kimbrel (elbow) and Addison Russell (concussion), all of whom don’t have a timetable to return.
It remains to be seen if they can hold onto one of the two spots without Rizzo, who is one of their best hitters and leaders on the field.
