AL Rookie of the Year Odds: Who Are the Favorites?

Who is favored to take home the AL ROY?

Young talent has flooded the American League this season and it has made for a highly competitive Rookie of the Year race.

So, instead of looking at MLB betting lines, it may be worth examining some futures odds to win AL Rookie of the Year.

Julio Rodriguez – Mariners (-500)

Last week: Julio Rodriguez only increased his lead in the AL ROY race by starting the second half red hot. Over his past seven games, he’s hitting .276 with three homers and 12 RBI.

Next week: He’ll have the bright lights on him again as the Mariners will round out the month of July with a four-game series against the Astros before heading to the Bronx.

Jeremy Pena – Astros (+800)

Last week: Jeremy Pena kept pace with Rodriguez offensively this past week but doesn’t have the star power to get any love from the market. Pena’s hitting .276 with two homers and two RBI over the past week.

Next week: Pena and Rodriguez will square off this weekend before the Astros head to Boston for their first series of August.

Bobby Witt Jr. – Royals (+1100)

Last week: Bobby Witt Jr. went 4-for-11 with one homer and four RBI since the All-Star break. However, he tweaked his hamstring and has not played since July 24.

Next Week: Witt has missed the last three games with injury but hasn’t been placed on the IL yet. He was seen running and doing some pregame activities, so there’s optimism that he could return soon.

Adley Rutschman – Orioles (+3000)

Last week: The Orioles have kept winning, and Adley Rutschman has been raking. Over his past seven games, he’s been hitting .429 and has six walks. Although, he has not done much run-producing, as he has no homers and just two RBI over that same span.

Next week: Baltimore will have some great hitting opportunities in front of them as they have series with the Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers on deck. It will be interesting to see if Rutschman can flash some pop.

Riley Greene – Tigers (+4000)

Last week: Riley Greene has yet to get it going in the second half. He’s hitting just .188 with 10 strikeouts over his past seven games.

Next week: Being a part of the worst offense in baseball does not help your rookie of the year candidacy, but Greene has talent, and it will be up to him to showcase it going forward.
