Coming off a 4th place finish at the Tour Championship, this is Schauffele’s first PGA Tour event of the season after he posted seven Top 10 finishes, including three wins in 2021-2022. As one of the hottest golfers in the world, he won the Travelers Championship, Genesis Scottish Open and finished T3 at the BMW Championship before finishing 4th at the Tour Championship in four of his last six starts. Schauffele ranked 3rd in Par 3 scoring in this field last season and since there are five Par 3 holes compared to just three Par 5 holes on this course, that certainly works in his favor this week.

Collin Morikawa Top 5 Finish (+370, FanDuel)

He finished last season ranked 3rd in SG: Approach The Green and 3rd in Proximity To Hole, both of which are going to be important factors at this short Par-70 course. Morikawa logged two Top 5 finishes in his last six starts of the 2021-2022 season and profiles very well here. As one of the best ball-strikers on Tour, Morikawa’s game sets up very well in what will be a rainy start to the tournament.

Viktor Hovland Top 10 Finish (+230, FanDuel)

The model is giving Hovland +134 odds to log a Top 10 finish. That makes his +230 odds at FanDuel a nice bargain.

Hovland finished T5 at the BMW PGA Championship and then T34 at the Italian Open in his last two starts and logged five Top 10 finishes last season as well. Last season, he ranked 7th in Scoring Average and is aggressive, as his 5th ranking in Going For The Green indicates. He will have plenty of opportunities to show off that aggression this week. He also ranked 5th in Birdie Or Better Conversional Percentage, so I’m taking a shot on him.

Corey Conners Top 20 Finish (-110, DraftKings)

DraftKings is projecting Connors to finish in the Top 20, as his -110 odds indicate. However, we’re giving him -161 odds and more of a cushion to finish there.

Conners ranked 5th in SG: Off-The-Tee last year, 6th in Proximity To Hole, 13th in SG: Tee-To-Green and 15th in SG: Approach-The-Green in a solid campaign last season and quietly also ranked 2nd in Greens In Regulation Percentage. He’s one of the best ball-strikers in this field and on Tour in general, so I’m definitely in agreement with the model’s projection.

Kevin Streelman Top 30 Finish (+100, BetMGM)
